Project Overview
CES Quarry Products Ltd, whose roots trace back to 1948, are a leading provider of sand, crushed stone, concrete blocks, bricks and ready-mix concrete to the construction industry in the UK. They had already achieved certification to ISO 9001 : 2008 and ISO 14001 : 2004, but wanted to improve their management system with the objective of achieving certification to BS OHSAS 18001 : 2007.
CES operated 2 separate management systems compliant with ISO 9001 : 2008 & ISO 14001 : 2004 respectively. We were approached by CES to amalgamate and streamline their existing systems and upgrade the newly integrated system to meet the requirements of BS OHSAS 18001 : 2007. The ultimate aim of the project was to provide CES with a single management system that would meet the requirements of all 3 aforementioned standards.
The project to develop this bespoke integrated system began in August 2013 and was completed in November 2013. The management representative received training in December 2013 and was impressed with the integration process and how it reduced his workload without compromising compliance. In May 2014, CES were certified against the requirements of all 3 standards by internationally renowned certification body SGS, and are now able to realise the benefits of a truly integrated management system.
